Exercise Aurora

Details of the Exercise

The HPA's Emergency Response Division (ERD) is running a series of exercises to test emergency preparedness in the health service community, as part of a training programme delivered on behalf of the Department of Health. Each exercise involves co-ordinating a wide cross-section of organisations on a national, regional and local level.

Exercise Aurora was a multi-agency, table-top influenza pandemic exercise in Bradford, West Yorkshire. This exercise followed on from the successful influenza exercises, Icarus (London) and Arctic Sea (East Midlands).

Objectives of the exercise:

Observations arising from this exercise are being used to further develop local, regional and national flu plans.
