Stakeholder Bulletin:
Call for proposals: Civil protection financial instrument - prevention and
other actions
07 June 2007
In previous years the Civil Contingencies Secretariat has notified you
about funding opportunities in the field of civil protection under the
Directorate General for Environment – the Community Action Programme. Under
a new financial framework the previous funding programme has been replaced
with a new annual programme.
Each year there will be a thematic priority covering the programme. In 2007
the thematic priority is climate change, in particular in relation to
natural disasters. Under the thematic priority there are four operational
objectives:
-
Enhancing the preparedness of the professional and volunteer civil
protection services operating in the Member States;
-
Enhancing the preparedness of the public in case of emergencies in the
Member States;
-
Prevention;
-
Dissemination, promotion and implementation of project results (for
completed EU funded projects).
Project proposals must focus on one of the objectives and must demonstrate
European added-value (including involving organisations in more than one
Member State). Funding is available for up to 75% of the eligible costs or
a maximum of 500,000 euro.
The deadline for applications is 1st August 2007.
All the information on the funding programme, the eligibility criteria and
financing is available at: http://ec.europa.eu/environment/civil/prote/finance.htm. Further
questions on the funding programme should be addressed to the Civil
Protection Unit at the Commission: env-a3@ec.europa.eu.
Potential applicants with sufficiently scoped projects are asked to contact
the Civil Contingencies Secretariat, which is the lead authority for UK
civil protection matters in Europe, to ensure that there is a consistency
with UK national and European policies: pnc-ccs@cabinet-office.x.gsi.gov.uk.
This email address can also be used for any general enquires.
